Serving a new paradigm

I stumbled across this film recently. Placing it here in no way should be seen as an endorsement. Having said that, what do you think? What is your response?

Post some comments.

I have watched this video a couple of times and I agree with the essence of what the guy is saying, that we are tuning into a different way of doing things. However, I don't see this as new or emerging, rather that we are finally starting to live a life that is reflective of the early church. Perhaps for media, who have traditionally seen the church as a seperated organisation who is very inward looking this is a new paradigm. But in reality is some of the church not simply beginning to live a life similar to the early church? Are we actually going full circle?

The world is in a state of 'Continuous evolution'. We as the present incumbents of the earth can only verbalise what we see now from our own historical and experiential contexts and our hopes of what could be. This is why we are always in need of the perceivers and navigators of our time. We must the implementers of the Kingdom of God for this age; where we live; where we work and where we play. I would hope that we are aspiring to live on a moving helix rather than going full circle.

So there has to be a balance found in living out the church started by Jesus disciples in the 21st Century. We need to recognise that that we live Kingdom life 24/7 rather than it being reflected only in various aspects of our daily lives. How should we reflect 21st Century church at this time, at this particular evolutionary stage? And can we dictate this evolution or are we being dictated to?

Dave couldn't agree with you more mate - These are the big questions for our now time. I do think in certain times of history that the evolutionary process is interrupted by a revolution of change and I feel we are going through one of these times at the moment. The landscape is changing brought on by the global financial meltdown which will impact, politics, education, business, church in fact everything. I don't think we will even be able to use maps to try to chart the future we will need to use compasses because the landscape will change so much. This is why, I believe we need a new generation of radical navigators. If people of the Kingdom rise up we can participate in dictating the pace, direction and shape of this revolution and do what we were always supposed to do........to welcome heaven to earth, to live as Easter people in the midst of death proclaiming new creation in our every day lives.
